SHANNON FLAHERTY, JD, FFCP

Owner | Pet Care Professional | Dog Trainer

Shannon is a devoted animal advocate and co-founder of A&S Pet Care. She grew up in Upton with family pets, a dog and a cat, who sparked her lifelong passion for animal welfare. Would you believe that she was once very fearful of dogs?

Shannon is a force-free dog trainer focused on positive reinforcement. She is a student of the Karen Pryor Academy Pet Professional Certification Program, and expects to graduate in late 2026.

For over eight years, Shannon has volunteered with animal shelters and rescues, contributing both hands-on care and administrative support. She currently serves as the Dog Programs Volunteer Coordinator at Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton, where she onboards new dog care volunteers and supports day-to-day shelter operations.

As a Juris Doctor graduate, Shannon combines her dedication to animal welfare with a growing interest in animal law and advocacy. She continues to expand her knowledge by participating in animal legislation initiatives and attending educational webinars focused on animal rights and protection.

Outside of her advocacy work, Shannon enjoys reading, exploring nature, and spending time by the ocean with her partner, Alex, and their two rescue dogs, Luna and Nova.

Shannon is a Fear Free Certified Professional and is a member of the Pet Professional Guild.
