A&S Pet Care prides itself on delivering thoughtful, patient, fear-free care designed especially for sensitive and reactive pets.

What is the fear-free philosophy?

The Fear-Free philosophy focuses on reducing fear, anxiety, and stress in pets during care. It prioritizes gentle handling, consent-based interactions, and respect for each animal’s emotional comfort. We move at your pet’s pace, read their body language, and adapt our approach to support pets who are nervous, reactive, elderly, or have special needs - so they feel safe, heard, and respected in our care.

Why fear-free?

Pets who feel safe are happier, healthier, and better able to trust the humans caring for them. Fear-Free care helps prevent fear-based reactions, builds confidence over time, and creates a calmer experience for everyone involved. For nervous, reactive, senior, or specially-abled pets, this approach isn’t just kinder—it’s essential. We believe pets deserve care that honors their comfort, consent, and individuality.

Position Statement on the Use of Aversive Training Equipment for Dogs

As part of A&S Pet Care’s commitment to Fear-Free principles and the most current science-based research on animal welfare and humane training practices, we do not use tools designed to create fear, anxiety, stress, or physical discomfort in dogs.

This includes, but is not limited to, electronic fence collars, e-collars or electric shock collars, prong collars, and choke collars.

Our approach prioritizes emotional safety, positive reinforcement, and trust-building.
